  • Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365) - Recommended
  • Excel 2021
  • Excel 2019
  • Excel 2016
We recommend using Microsoft 365 for the best experience, as it receives the latest Excel features and updates.

Why Doesn’t Crunched Support Older Versions?

Crunched requires modern Excel capabilities to function securely and reliably:
  • Security: Older Excel versions lack critical security features needed to protect your data during AI processing. Given that financial models often contain sensitive information, we prioritize security over backward compatibility.
  • Modern APIs: Excel 2016 and later provide the advanced integration capabilities Crunched needs to analyze and modify your spreadsheets accurately.
  • Microsoft support: Microsoft no longer provides security updates for Excel 2013 and earlier, creating potential vulnerabilities.
If you’re using an older version of Excel, contact your IT department about upgrading to a supported version. Most organizations have already migrated to Excel 2016 or Microsoft 365 for security and compliance reasons.
